Bachelor of Commerce (BCom)

A Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) is a three-year undergraduate degree program. It is designed to impart students with a wide range of managerial skills and building competence in a different area of business, such areas are accounting, finance, economics, actuarial studies, business management, human resources and marketing. Some programs also require business statistics and -calculus, and information systems depending on the institution. The Honors Bachelor of Commerce (BCom, Hons) is further advanced. The degree has a specialization aspect, analogous to the BBA, developing the student’s business skills and providing in-depth knowledge of the field of commerce. Today in the liberalized world B. Com is the second most sought stream after science (Engineering and Medicine). It is the course which is considered a professional course.

Eligibility:-

Basic eligibility for pursuing BCom is 10+2 or equivalent with commerce stream.

Admission Process:-

The admission process differs from college to college. Unlike other undergraduate professional courses like Engineering or MBBS, colleges available are much more for B. Com, thus competition is comparatively less. Colleges give admission usually based on merit like colleges of Delhi University, although there are few colleges which conduct entrance examination also such as Christ University Entrance Test, Jamia Milia Islamia Entrance Exam etc.
