BSc Nursing is a four-year undergraduate course that is imparted to the students to prepare a human resource for nursing purpose both at hospitals and at home. This course prepares a human resource to give the following services:-
A. Describe the structure and function of the human body to permit her to appreciate aberrations from normal and their consequences.
B. Function effectively as part of the team in the delivery of comprehensive health care in a community, hospital in urban as well as rural location.
C. Administer comprehensive as well as specialized nursing care to the sick in the hospital or home environments.
D. Explain the actions, side effects, and indications for use of common drugs administered to the sick.
E. Provide first aid to the injured or the sick in emergency independently in the absence of a doctor.
F. Explain the local patterns of diseases in the country and common diseases in the country.
G. Explain the national health problems and appreciate the role of social, cultural, economic, psychological, and environmental factors in the causation and control of diseases.
H. Provide antenatal supervision and conduct normal deliveries at home or in the hospital. She should be able to recognize the complications during the antenatal, natal, or postnatal period and seek help in time from a doctor.
I. Demonstrate adequate management and supervisory skill to coordinate the proper functioning of various personnel in the ward.
J. Assist in the common operative procedure and describe the surgical aspects, techniques and be skilled in its applications.
This course offers specialization in different fields of nursing such as Orthopedic and Rehabilitation Nursing, Neonatal Nursing, Neuro Nursing, Nursing Education and Administration, Psychiatric Nursing, Oncology Nursing, Critical Care Nursing, Practitioner in Midwifery, Emergency and Disaster Nursing, Cardio-Thoracic Nursing, Operation Room Nursing, etc.

Eligibility:-

10+2 or equivalent with Biology stream is the minimum criteria to pursue B. Sc Nursing.
